Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to your community and directly help those in need. Listed below are City programs that accept volunteers. Are you Interested in volunteering with the City of Brampton? There are many ways you can get involved. You become eligible to volunteer with us when your turn 14 years old. Depending on the volunteer opportunities that you are interested in, additional qualifications may apply.

Volunteer Positions within the City of Brampton

Animal ServicesMajor Responsibilities:
  • Walk dogs
  • Socialize with cats
  • Drive animals (wild and domestic) to vet appointments and rehab centres
  • Foster cats with kittens in your home
  • Minimum 16 years of age

Aquatics VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Current Bronze Medallion
Clean City VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Clean up parks and neighbourhoods in Brampton
Dance VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Assists children learning dance
  • Outgoing, enjoys working with children, previous dance experience
Facility Maintenance VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Clean up of neighbourhood recreation centres
Fitness VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Clean up of fitness centres
  • Assist fitness staff as required
Preschool/Childcare VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Assist child care staff as required
  • Assist children with activities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Enjoys working with children of all ages
  • Responsible and reliable
Senior Programs VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Work with adults ages 55+
  • Choose from a wide variety of opportunities including, café, special events, programs, administration and more

  • Assist children learning to skate
  • Preliminary level figure skating skills or 5 years of hockey or powerskating experience

Performing Arts Customer Experience Ambassadors are volunteers who welcome guests and meet access requirements, with customized services to create memorable experiences. They are passionate about building community, creating inclusive spaces, and fostering relationships with artists and audiences. Youth Program VolunteerMajor Responsibilities:
  • Work with children/youth aged 6 to 14 years.
  • Must be energetic, creative and enjoy interacting with children and youth
  • Choose from a wide variety of programs, including arts and crafts, sports, music and more
