AM and PM are Latin words that are used to reference time. AM and PM are the abbreviated terms for Ante meridiem and Post meridiem which means before noon or midday and afternoon or midday respectively. Convert AM PM Clock to a 24-Hour Clock
We can convert an AM-PM clock to a 24-hour clock by subtracting 12 hours from the first hour of the day (midnight to 12:59 a.m.).

Convert a 24-Hour Clock to AM-PM Clock
It is possible to convert a 24-hour clock to an AM-PM clock by attaching 12 hours from the first hour of the day (0:00 / midnight to 0:59) and AM to the time.

Therefore, Martha will complete her race by 8:40 am.Example 3: Dale takes 15 minutes to cover the circumference of the park by his bicycle. If he starts at 8.30 am and takes 3 rounds at what time he will complete all 3 rounds?
Solution: Time at which he starts cycling = 8:30 am
Total time taken by him to reach 3 rounds = 3 × 15 = 45 minutes
Therefore, Dale will complete all 3 rounds at 9:15 am.Example 4: Convert 17:00 to 12 hour clock time by using AM PM units.
Solution: To convert 17:00 to 12 hour clock time, we subtract 12 hours and at the end add PM.
Therefore, on converting 17:00 to 12 hour clock we get, 5 PM.
