Throughout the course students are addressing the health related fitness components through physical activity, games, education and fitness testing.

Health Related Fitness Components
Muscular Strength: Muscular strength is ability of a muscle to exert a
maximal force through a given range of motion or at a single given point. Or refers to the maximum amount of force a muscle can exert against an opposing force one time.
Muscular Endurance: Muscular Endurance refers to the capacity of a muscle to exert a sub maximal force through a given range of motion or at a single point over a given time. Or refers to the ability of the muscle to work over an extended period of time without fatigue.
Cardiovascular Endurance: Cardiovascular Endurance is the ability of the heart (cardio) and circulatory system (vascular) to supply oxygen to muscles for an extended period of time.
Flexibility: Flexibility is the ability of a joint to move through a full range of motion.
Body Composition: Body Composition is the ratio of lean body mass (including water, bone, muscle, and connective tissue) to fat body mass.
By the end of the course students should know and understand the definition of these terms, be able to perform and improve fitness testing scores in each area and be able to perform and suggest activities to address improvement in each area.
