The intel(r) wireless-ac 9462 adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problems

Hi, my internet wasn't working when I turned on my PC this afternoon, no connections are showing up or anything. I checked in device manager and there is a yellow triangle next to the wireless adapter. When I open up properties the device says "This device cannot start. (Code 10). {Operation failed} The request operation was unsuccessful." When I run troubleshoot it says "The intel Wireless-AC 9462 adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problems.
I have updated my bios, deleted the driver and rebooted the pc, deleted the driver and reinstalled with the newest driver from the MSI website through usb. None of it has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I have an MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC Motherboard

I'm having the same issue. Two days ago, I also got the code 10 error (MSI GL63 8RD - AC-9462). Tried about everything Google said. Today I installed the ENE Radio Switch Driver and, after a few seconds, WIFI came back and I was even able to connect to my network. But it stopped again. Initially, I thought replacing the module would fix the issue. But after what happened today, I'm thinking this is a driver issue.

Make sure Windows is up to date, there have been some issues with wireless drivers on older versions of Windows.

• * Enabling and disabling the device
• * Installing the older version of the MSI official drivers
• * Installing the latest version of drivers through the Intel Driver Support Assistant
• * Installing the latest version of drivers, downloaded from the Intel website
• * Uninstall and re-install the Bluetooth drivers to check whether there is an interference.(BT works fine btw)
• * Fresh Windows installation and repeat the above steps.

I think I should settle for a cheap WiFi adapter because nothing is working.

If you get a replacement, be sure to get the newest tech as AC is now an older generation.

Using a wifi adapter since day one and it works fine. Curious if a 9560 or AX200 would fix any issues. I have both in my parts bin but since the WIFI PCIE card works I am reluctant to change anything.

So, I'm kind of a noob with computers. I really only know the basics. So when I encountered this problem, I was just a little confused. Just a little. So I logged onto my computer one day, and I see this "!" on my log in screen on the bottom right where my connection usually is. So I have no internet connection. But as I troubleshoot the problem I come up with this "Adapater is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problems". So my question is, anyone know what kinda "driver or hardware" problem I'm facing? And if there's anyway I can fix it? Because ever since this happened I'm unable to connect to the internet via my Ethernet cable which is causing a bunch of lag with my computer since my router is more setup for Ethernet cables.

What exactly is this code 10? Like I said, not really a big expert at computers

It means exactly that. Windows could not start the device. This is generally either a problem with the driver, reinstall the driver. The other possibilities are your device isnt supported in Win 10 or there is a hardware problem, in which case the device will need to be replaced.

That will usually fix issues like this if it's just a driver or configuration problem.

It forces Windows to identify the device, find a driver for it, and configure it to work on your computer.

Windows is very good at this, it actually does it even before Windows gets installed during the installation process.

I did this, but it still didn't work. After I deleted it, and restarted my computer, it replaced it with the same broken one again. Here is a screenshot of my problem

It just replaced it with the same broken network adapter. Not sure if it's a problem with the Ethernet cable, or one of my drivers, but whatever it is, it's causing the "Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller" to not connect to my internet anymore

Bad cables won't cause a driver issue. Per reply #2 you will want to try the manufacturer site and look for a newer driver version and install it.

You don't get the get the drivers from the "manufacturer website" the company that builds the network adapter chip or card, you must get it from the manufacturer of your computer's website! In order for us to help you, you need to tell us the EXACT Make/Model of your computer? Is it a desktop PC or a laptop? Is it an OEM computer (Dell, Acer, HP, Toshiba, etc.)? Or if you self-built your PC from parts you purchased or bought it custom-built from a shop that assembled components to your specifications, then we need full hardware specs on the Motherboard (Make/Model #), GPU card, RAM sticks, and PSU (Power Supply) Make/Model/Wattage. Faced the same issue today in my MSI laptop after the new windows update. WiFi option was missing,
I did exactly like Neemobeersaid. Unistalled the device and rebooted. Resolved it.

Thank you. I can't imagine that having 7th generation laptop, this type of problem can occur. But uninstalling and rebooting the device solved my problem.

Method 1: Run the Network adapter troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

1. Type Troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Network adapter.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

I know this answer is from 5 years ago but it is exactally what I've been looking for and it worked!!!!! I've had a laptop sitting around for 2 years unable to use because of this issue and by following these instructions (had to go to the uninstall, reboot & test) it worked!!!! thank you thank you thank you!!!!
